No matter how many surveys that say there are many women who like men who are bald, one thing is for certain, MOST women still prefer men with a head that is full of hair than men who are bald, or maybe going bald. A hair loss treatment company called Maxim Hair, conducted a 2-month survey wherein they posted 2 profiles of the same man on different well-known dating websites back in 2009. The profile picture showed the very same man and bears the exact same details, but the only noticeable difference is, the first profile has a head with full hair on him while on the other one, they Photoshopped it and made him completely bald. The profile with the crowning glory obviously got more than 100 responses, whereas for the hairless one, only got 22 responses.
Even if there are those who can sport the bald look and look great on it, there are, in reality, a lot of men who do not look attractive or appealing when they are bald. While of course being bald is not a solid basis of evaluating the whole personality of a man, it usually breaks a man’s overall image for a lot of women.
There are many ways on how to take care of a balding problem. The most common type of permanent hair loss is manifested only at the top of the head, and this kind of problem can be solved via hair transplants and scalp reduction. However, these procedures are of course very expensive and it can be very painful. Also, you are at possible risk of scarring and infection. Another way to take care of a balding problem is by just using a wig or a hairpiece. They can be used to cover either temporary or permanent hair loss.
Thankfully, nowadays, there is a way on how to solve this specific dilemma concerning hair (or a lack thereof), and it is called finasteride 1mg (brand name Propecia). Finasteride 1mg was developed solely for the treatment of male-pattern baldness (or androgenetic alopecia) in men.
DHT (dihydrotestosterone) is the hormone that is mainly responsible for making men become bald. The action of finasteride 1mg is that it blocks the production and formation of DHT (dihydrotestosterone) in the scalp. By means of reducing the DHT in the body, the progression of the shrinking of the hair follicles was stopped, thus resulting to no further hair loss. Keep in mind that in order to keep yourself from getting completely bald, you need to take finasteride 1mg once per day for quite practically the rest of your life!
For many men who are taking finasteride 1mg, they have stated that they experienced a gradual slowing down of their hair loss, and others have happily reported that they have had some new hair growing again on their heads. Finasteride 1mg has its own share of side effects, but it is quite rare when they do occur. Rare side effects include diminished libido and erectile function. Anyway, prior to taking finasteride 1mg, do take note that you must visit and seek the help of your doctor first.
